1. Introduction
Flourishment Studio is an independent publishing project behind the Gentle Wanderings book series by Lidia Sophia. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit www.flourishmentstudio.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have about that information. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
We take your privacy seriously. The Site is a marketing and informational destination — we do not sell products directly, we do not process payments, and we do not create user accounts. The data we collect is limited to what is necessary to communicate with you and improve the Site.
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information in a small number of ways:
Email address and name (optional). When you sign up for the Flourishment Studio newsletter or any future email communication, you provide at minimum your email address. You may also choose to provide your first name. We collect this information directly from you at the point of signup.
Contact form submissions. If you reach out through the Site's contact form, we receive the information you include in your message — typically your name, email address, and whatever you write to us. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.
Automatically collected data. Like all websites, our Site automatically collects certain technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and the pages you came from. This data is collected by Squarespace (our website platform) and, where enabled, by Google Analytics. It is collected in aggregate and is primarily used to understand how readers find and use the Site.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for these purposes:
To send the Flourishment Studio newsletter. If you subscribe, we use your email address to deliver newsletters, book updates, and notices about new offerings. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
To respond to your messages. If you contact us through the Site, we use your information solely to reply to you.
To understand and improve the Site. Aggregate analytics data helps us see which content is most useful to readers and how to make the Site easier to navigate. We do not use this data to build personal profiles.
To notify you about new books, offerings, or community opportunities. As Flourishment Studio grows, we may use your email address to let you know about developments relevant to the Gentle Wanderings series. These communications are always optional; you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share limited data only with the service providers who help us operate the Site and communicate with subscribers:
Squarespace, Inc. — our website hosting and content management platform. Squarespace may process technical usage data as part of hosting services. Squarespace's Privacy Policy is available at squarespace.com/privacy.
Our email service provider (currently Metricool and/or Squarespace Email Campaigns) — used to send and manage the newsletter. Your email address is stored in these platforms. Both operate under their own privacy policies and comply with applicable anti-spam and data protection laws.
Google Analytics (if enabled) — used to collect aggregate, anonymized Site traffic data. Google's Privacy Policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. Beyond these processors, we do not disclose personal information to any other third party unless required to do so by law or to protect the rights and safety of Flourishment Studio and its readers.
5. Cookies and Tracking
The Site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to operate correctly and to gather analytics data. Squarespace sets functional cookies necessary for the Site to work. Analytics cookies (from Squarespace or Google Analytics) collect aggregate, anonymized information about how visitors use the Site.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some Site features may not function as intended if you do so. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or behavioral tracking for ad purposes.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Unsubscribe. Every newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at Lidia@flourishmentstudio.com to request removal. We will process your request promptly, and in no case later than ten (10) business days.
Access, correction, and deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask us to delete your information by emailing Lidia@flourishmentstudio.com.
EU residents (GDPR). If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data; to object to or restrict how we process it; and to request data portability. Our legal basis for processing your email address as a newsletter subscriber is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion of your personal information, to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. 7. Data Retention
We retain your email address and associated subscription data for as long as you are subscribed to our newsletter. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, we will remove your information from our active mailing list promptly and from all backups within a reasonable period (generally no longer than 90 days). Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to address your inquiry.
8. Children's Privacy
The Flourishment Studio Site and the Gentle Wanderings book series are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through the Site, please contact us at Lidia@flourishmentstudio.com and we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
9. International Visitors
Flourishment Studio operates from the United States. If you are visiting the Site from outside the US, please be aware that any information you provide will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Site and providing us with any personal information, you consent to that transfer and processing.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
